Paulsen Architects president and principal elected as an officer for AIA Minnesota Minneapolis Board of DirectorsMANKATO, Minn. (January 21, 2009) — Paulsen Architects president and principal Bryan Paulsen, AIA, CID, has been elected as secretary for the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Architects Minnesota (AIA Minnesota) Minneapolis Chapter for a two-year term starting January 2009. Paulsen was originally elected to the board in 2007. He founded and leads Paulsen Architects--Southern Minnesota’s premier full-service architecture, engineering, interior design and planning firm. Paulsen Architects has been a member of AIA Minnesota since 1995. Founded in 1857, AIA is the professional association for architecture dedicated to strengthening communities, improving the quality of the built environment and promoting exceptional design. Members adhere to a code of ethics and professional conduct that assures the client, the public, and colleagues of an AIA-member architect's dedication to the highest standards in professional practice.
Paulsen has been practicing architecture for 27 years and has earned a distinguished reputation for providing innovative designs for such notable buildings as Hormel’s Spam Museum, St. Peter Community Center, Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Centennial Student Union, Mayo Health System ISJ Clinic – EastRidge, City Center Mankato’s Hilton Garden Inn and Blue Earth County Justice Center which is scheduled to become South Central Minnesota’s first LEED certified building. Many of the firm’s projects have garnered prestigious state and national design awards.
Paulsen received a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Minnesota School of Architecture and is a registered architect in multiple states. In addition to his role on the AIA Minnesota Minneapolis Chapter Board of Directors, Paulsen serves on the City of Mankato Historic Preservation Commission, South Central College Architectural Advisory Council and Center for Construction Technology Advisory Board, Minnesota State University Mankato’s Construction Management Board, Mankato Civic Service Commission, City Center Business Association Business Development and Retention Committee and the Mankato Family YMCA Board of Directors.
