Madelia Community Hospital
Madelia, MN
The Madelia Community Hospital expanded, providing space for an additional 11 beds in the hospital, and renovated existing patient rooms. The new addition's brick exterior blends with the existing hospital and clinic's Prairie Style design. Access to a new patio at the south end of the addition gives staff a relaxing place to take a break and gives patient and visitors a convenient place to get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoors. In addition to updating existing patient rooms, the hospital also renovated the central nursing station, pharmacy, and some office/administrative space. The lower level of the addition, home to a large physical therapy room and record storage, fills with natural light from new window wells. Electrical systems for the hospital were also substantially upgraded, including a more powerful generator back up system.
