Pub 500

Mankato, MN

Located in the heart of Mankato’s historic downtown, this new pub and eatery was designed to truly become a place for gathering – for business meetings, for families and for the late-night crowd. Although new, this building blends seamlessly with the eclectic architectural style of surrounding buildings. To make the building look and feel more like an old-world pub, designers used two brick colors to make the building appear to have been two buildings, both on the interior and exterior. Masonry details such as corbelled cornices, arches, keystones and lentils were used to make the building blend in with the historic buildings from the late 1800s. The interior features expansive windows, a vaulted ceiling, a large 360-degree bar, an elevated dining area, space for pool and darts and a fireside lounge. The fireplace, covered with copper, is open on three-sides and visible in the dining areas. High-back booths and aged-wood furniture with faux leather coverings make the new building feel like an old-world pub. Outside, the patio seating around the fireplace are perfect for watching the world go by.
