Rock County Law Enforcement Center

Luverne, MN

Rock County asked Paulsen Architects to explore their options: should they expand their existing Justice Center which is currently housed in the historic courthouse, or build a new facility? Through a collaborative process, it was determined that a new building would be more cost effective, have greater accessibility for county residents and better accommodate future growth. The new facility houses the county dispatch, offices for county law enforcement officials, investigators, holding cells, evidence storage, squad room and a training room. Because operational costs of the building were also important in choosing a new building, a geothermal heat pump was included in the mechanical system—saving money and lowering life-cycle costs.
