Region Nine Development Commission
Mankato, MN
Region Nine Development Commission had to relocate after their existing office location in the Nichols Office Building because it was scheduled for closure and demolition. Paulsen Architects had worked with the Nichols building owner and Blue Earth County for three years on the feasibility, planning and design of a new Justice Center, and the eventual decommissioning of the Nichols Building.
When the new location for Region Nine Development Commission was identified in the Intergovernmental Center in Mankato's City Center, the organization wanted to have a bright and open office that would also be flexible for many office meetings or workshops.
The DIRTT (Doing It Right This Tme) wall system was used for the enclosed offices. The wall system is a pre-engineered, pre-manufactured movable wall that saves space, eliminates construction waste and offers the transfer of natural light through the exterior offices. The system is also capable of being reconfigured as the organization’s space needs change.
